Pair faces drug charges after city traffic stop

YOUNGSTOWN — A Wellsville woman is in the Mahoning County jail on a possession of heroin charge after reports said an officer tailed a car she was in to a drug deal.

Reports said Officer Jessica Shields spotted a car driven by Charles Grimm, 38, of Bergholz, circle an area where drugs are sold several times before stopping at a Market Street gas station, where a man walked up to the car, exchanged something with the people inside and then walked away.

Reports said Shields pulled the car over after it pulled out of the parking lot. Reports said her police dog, Hector, did a sniff outside the car and Shields then found three marijuana cigarettes inside and a passenger, Angel Grimm, 37, of Wellsville, had drug paraphernalia on the seat next to her.

Angel Grimm was taken into custody and inside of a cruiser where she was sitting police found white powder smeared all over the seat.

Reports said she apologized and told police she just wanted to get the heroin she was holding out of her pants. She was taken to the jail on charges of possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Charles Grimm was cited for possession of marijuana. Reports said he told police the marijuana cigarettes belonged to his daughter but he would take responsibility for them.
