Warren police interview man accused of threatening to abduct girl, 11

Staff report

WARREN

Police interviewed a man Monday afternoon and are considering filing charges against him after a girl, 11, said he threatened to abduct her.

The girl said she was standing near her house on Stiles Avenue Northwest at 1:47 p.m. when a man in his 50s standing near her yard told her she had pretty hair.

Next he said the girl had three seconds to have someone answer the door at her house “or she would be going with him.” The man started walking toward the front of the house and counted down from three.

The girl’s sister answered the door, and the girl went inside.

Police were unable to locate the man, described as having a tan, long shirt over black jeans and one bad eye.

An hour later, with help from a citizen, police found the man and interviewed him. He was released pending further investigation.
