Dana faculty trio to perform at Butler

YOUNGSTOWN

The Dana School of Music faculty trio of Joseph Kromholz (violin), Alice Wang (clarinet), and Cicilia Yudha, piano, will open the fall semester’s Music at Noon series at 12:15 p.m. Aug. 26 at the Butler Institute of American Art, 524 Wick Ave.

The trio will preview a shorter version of the repertoire at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 28 in Bliss Recital Hall, on the Youngstown State University campus.

Bar crawl benefits dog rescue group

YOUNGSTOWN

Legacy Dog Rescue will sponsor a bar crawl, Youngstown Bark and Booze, Aug. 29 downtown.

Cost is $15 per ticket, which includes a bar crawl T-shirt. Registration is from 4 to 5 p.m. at O’Donold’s, 122 W. Federal St., which also is as the first stop. There are seven bars participating, and the crawl will wrap up at bar number seven, Suzie’s, with a basket auction.

Elvis tribute show at benefit event

Dr. Farid Naffah will host the 8th Annual Evening Under the Stars benefit to fund prescription assistance programs for elderly patients in Trumbull and Mahoning counties with performances on Aug. 28 and Aug. 29.

The fundraiser begins at 5 p.m. both days in Dr. Naffah’s outdoor theater with wine and hors d’oeuvres. Entertaining will be the Elvis tribute act “The Elvis in Me” by Ronnie Navarra, and artwork by James Valentini will be on display in the garden. Dinner will be catered by Michael Alberini and will include an oyster bar, marinated filets and Australian lobster tails.
