Inaugural run set at Memorial Park

There will be a Run Fast Winged 5K Saturday at Memorial Park on Superior Avenue. It is in memory of Dustin Huffman, who died Aug. 30, 2009, at age 17. Huffman was a senior at Salem High School when he suffered a head trauma while hiking with a friend in Beaver Creek State Park. He was a member of Salem’s relay track team.

The run will benefit the Dustin Huffman Memorial Scholarship Fund, which awards a graduating senior with $1,000 toward continuing their education. The scholarship is given based on the characteristics of honesty, integrity, kindness and compassion.
