BOARDMAN

A local car-dealership worker faces a felony theft charge after he was accused of accepting money from a customer but did not use it to secure a vehicle for the customer or return the money.

Brian Bailing, 39, of Maple Drive, whose listed place of employment is JP Auto Sales on Southern Boulevard, faces a fifth-degree felony charge after township police arrested him on a warrant Monday.

The purported victim reported to police in April that she paid Bailing $4,200 to purchase a vehicle from an auction for her. Bailing, however, has failed to get her a vehicle or return her money, she told police.

Bailing appeared for arraignment Tuesday in Mahoning County Area Court here, where Judge Joseph Houser set his bond at $2,500 cash or surety.

David Shambling, 54, of Hubbard pleaded not guilty to a charge of domestic violence at his arraignment Monday.

Police arrested David Shambling on Saturday at a home in Woodland Avenue, where the incident took place. Officers arrived and heard glass breaking and a woman screaming, according to a police report. Officers saw Shambling flip over a table and noted he was intoxicated and made threats against his daughter.

The report states an officer used a stun gun on Shambling after he resisted arrest. Shambling was taken to Trumbull County Jail, where he was kept without bond until his arraignment.
