Boardman jewelry owner shoots burglar

BOARDMAN — Township police are investigating a reported burglary at Cirelli Jewelers, 5903 Market St., in which the business owner reportedly shot the suspect who then got away.

Police responded to the business late Tuesday, according to a police report, where they discovered "fresh droplets of blood" in the parking lot and a pool of blood in another nearby lot.

Police recovered nearly $100,000 worth of jewelry that the suspect reportedly dropped after being shot.

The burglary attempt was caught on surveillance video.
