YSU UPDATE | The university has been major driver in community resurgence, Tressel says

YOUNGSTOWN -- Youngstown State University has been a major driver in the resurgence of the community, President Jim Tressel said in his State of the University address today.

He mentioned a grant that allows YSU students to tutor and mentor city school second-graders in preparation for the state-required Third Grade Reading Guarantee.

Tressel also said ground is expected to be broken in the next couple weeks on a new privately owned student housing complex on Fifth Avenue on the North Side.
