Police: Homeless man in Cleveland attacks victim with coffee mug

CLEVELAND (AP) — Police say a homeless Cleveland man beat an acquaintance with a coffee mug after the man accused him of drinking all the liquor in his house.

Northeast Ohio Media Group reports the attack happened about 7 a.m. Saturday at the victim’s home on West 73rd Street.

Police say the victim confronted the man about drinking all of the alcohol in his house and the man slammed a coffee mug into his head several times. The victim had let the man sleep on his floor the night before.

Other residents of the home broke up the fight. The victim was transported to a hospital, where he received four staples in his head.

Police are still looking for the homeless man, who reportedly left the house with the coffee mug.
