A Pennsylvania man was arrested on three felony drug charges Sunday morning in the city.

Daniel S. Hilliard, 18, of Cranberry, Pa., was arrested after a traffic stop at 12:51 a.m. and charged with trafficking in marijuana, a fifth-degree felony; two counts of drug abuse, fifth-degree felonies; and a charge of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $7,650 Sunday morning, and he will be arraigned at 6 p.m. today in Mahoning County Area Court here.

Online records said Hilliard bonded out Sunday morning from Mahoning County jail.

Hilliard told police he was the owner of a bag that contained three large bags of marijuana, which weighed 140 grams; two pills of Opana, a pain medication; 1.5 pills of hydrocodone, another pain medicine; a smoke pipe with marijuana residue; and a scale with marijuana residue. The Cranberry man told police he bought the drugs in Salem and planned to sell them back home in Pennsylvania.

Hilliard was riding in the front passenger seat while Levi W. Zacherl, 19, of Emlenton, Pa., was the driver. He was cited for marked lanes and will be in Canfield Mayor’s Court on Sept. 18.

Canfield police initially pulled the two over for a loud exhaust and going left of center twice while driving northbound on state Route 46, North Broad Street. Zacherl told police he went left of center because he was trying to read a GPS device because he was lost.
