Gilboys return to celebrate their 50th milestone

JACKSONVILLE, FLA.
Richard and Mary Margaret Gilboy of Jacksonville, Fla., formerly of Struthers and New Middletown, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary July 19 at a party with family and friends at the Fireplace Restaurant in Poland.
Their children and other family members hosted the festivities.
At the celebration, the couple renewed their vows with their cousin the Rev. Joseph Markalonis officiating.
The couple’s children are Joseph Gilboy of Tallahassee, Fla.; Timothy (Angela) Gilboy of Jacksonville Beach, Fla.; and Amy Gilboy of Fort Collins, Colo. The Gilboys have two grandchildren, Luke and Chloe Gilboy of Jacksonville Beach.
Mrs. Gilboy, the former Mary Margaret Polisky, retired in 2012 after working as a registered nurse for hospitals in Ohio, California, Florida, Maryland, Georgia and Virginia.
Mr. Gilboy retired as a commander from the U.S. Navy after 39 years of service, including 24 years of active duty. He also retired as an administrator from Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Ga. He had been a teacher for Boardman Schools.
The Gilboys were married Aug. 21, 1965, at Sacred Heart Church in Youngstown.
They are members of Holy Family Church in Jacksonville.
