Bishop Murry to host clergy and community leaders to meet Sept. 3

YOUNGSTOWN

A clergy and community leaders breakfast is planned from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Sept. 3 at St. Columba Cathedral, 154 W. Wood St.

This meeting is being sponsored by the ACTION Clergy Caucus with Bishop George V. Murry of the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown hosting.

ACTION is the Alliance for Congregational Transformation Influencing our Neighborhoods.

Ana Garcia Ashley, executive director of Gamaliel, will be guest speaker. She will share her faith and and ideas on faith-based community organizing.

Participants will discuss issues facing local communities and congregations and how to act together to impact them. Commitments will be sought on how to move forward together with input and participation by religious and community leaders.

The breakfast is complimentary; it will be served at 9:30 a.m. with the meeting at 9:45. Reservations are due by Aug. 24. Send emails to taulen@aol.com.
