All eyes on Ohio State quarterback competition

COLUMBUS (AP) — The Ohio State quarterback competition is heating up as the Buckeyes head into a week of two-a-day practices.

Coach Urban Meyer says he likes what he has seen out of J.T. Barrett and Cardale Jones so far. Even more, he likes how well the two get along and encourage each other.

Meyer says he will not make his decision on who starts public on the defending national champion Buckeyes take the field Labor Day night against Virginia Tech.

Jones says both players want the job, but mostly they want what’s best for the team.
