Sharon Regional to expand

SHARON, Pa.

Sharon Regional Health System will soon begin demolishing the former St. Joseph School property east of the hospital to prepare for expansion.

The clearing and site preparation of the school property is expected to start within the next couple of weeks and will leave Sharon Regional with 3.85 acres for future expansion.

Sharon Regional acquired the property from the Diocese of Erie in 2013. The original school was built in 1890 with additions in 1930 and 1954. The demolition and site preparation is expected to be completed by the end of December 2015.
