He had been a seventh-grade girls basketball coach at Austintown Middle School this past season.

Drug charges

HUBBARD

Michael R. Atwood, 30, of Lewis Seifert Road, is in the Trumbull County Jail without eligibility to make bond after Hubbard Township police arrested him Tuesday on charges of drug trafficking and drug possession in an undercover operation.

Police said Atwood sold heroin and a generic form of Suboxone to an undercover officer in the parking lot of Burger King on North Main Street.

Police say they believe Atwood was “pivotal in the distribution of heroin in Hubbard.”

Atwood was arraigned Wednesday in Girard Municipal Court, where a not-guilty plea was entered for him to the felony charges.

Township police responded to Taco Bell, 940 Boardman-Poland Road, early Thursday in reference to a man who had been in the lane for 20 minutes.

Charged is Daniel Morgan, 66, of Sheridan Road. He was cited for operating a vehicle while impaired and placed under a one-year administrative driver’s license suspension.
