YSU to make $420K from Pitt game after OSU cancellation

Youngstown State will make $420,000 from its opener against Pitt, which serves as a replacement game for an originally-scheduled game against Ohio State.

The Buckeyes originally agreed to pay $750,000 before the Big Ten adopted a policy of not scheduling FCS schools. OSU will make up the difference, money-wise.

The Big Ten policy has had a negative effect on YSU's athletic department, which prefers to play schools from that league, due to their geographical proximity and their willingness to pay more for opponents.
