Spanish heritage festival set this weekend

YOUNGSTOWN

Youngstown Spanish Heritage committee will host its fifth festival this weekend on East Federal between Market and Walnut streets.

The festival will take place from 6 to 11 p.m. Friday with a bike night fundraiser to benefit neighborhood ministries and Youngstown Spanish Heritage scholarship. The fee is $5 for this event only. Entertainment will be provided by Ken Reyes of Rookery Radio with Pedro and friends playing Latin music starting at 8:30 p.m.

Saturday’s hours are from noon to 11 p.m. and will include a car show between Champion and Walnut. There will be a parade starting at Himrod and Lane streets on the East Side that will lead into the festival. This will be followed by a day of music, dance and food. There is a $3 entrance fee; children younger than 12 are admitted free with an adult. No one younger than 18 will be allowed entrance without an adult.

The festival continues from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday with The Labra Brothers, Rumba the Show and wrestling. There will be face painting, pinatas and a bounce-around. Entrance fee is $3.
