Two women arrested in South Side beating case
YOUNGSTOWN
Reports said two women were arrested about 4:35 p.m. for beating up a woman on the South Side.
The woman told police she got off a bus in the 3700 block of Elbertus Avenue when she was jumped by Ava Teague, 46 and Cecilia Mclendon, 59, and knocked to the ground.
Reports said the victim told police she is pregnant and was trying to protect her stomach. Reports said the victim had blood coming from her nose and mouth and she was taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
Teague and Mclendon were found at a home East Midlothian Boulevard and arrested for assault. Both women were taken to the Mahoning County jail.
The third woman could not be found, reports said.
