Daniel gets 8 years for 2012 shooting

YOUNGSTOWN

Willie Daniel Jr. 20, of Youngstown, was sentenced to eight years in prison in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court today for an Aug. 14, 2012, shooting on the East Side.

Daniel was sentenced by Judge Maureen Sweeney on charges of attempted murder, aggravated robbery and a firearms specification.

The sentence was agreed upon and recommended by prosecutors and defense attorneys.

Another man received a similar sentence last August for his role in the crime.

Daniel also faces an aggravated murder charge in a separate case.
