Austintown Middle School coach arrested on child-porn charges

AUSTINTOWN — An Austintown Middle School girls basketball coach was arrested on three felony charges of child pornography this afternoon.

Rex Bosley, 59, of Austintown, was arrested after a search of his home. Authorities seized a laptop and phone.

Bosley faces charges of one count each of pandering sexually oriented mater involving a minor, pandering obscenity involving a minor, and illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material or performance.

Bosley was hired as a seventh-grade girls basketball coach at AMS in November.

His arrest follows a joint investigation conducted by the Attorney General’s Crimes Against Children Unit, township police, the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
