The Ohio Naturopathic Wellness Center, led by Dr. Ted Suzelis, is sponsoring its third charity 5K and 10-Mile Relay on Saturday to benefit the Mahoning Valley office of Autism Society of Ohio and SAFE (Supported and Facilitated Environments).
The event is at the Mill Creek Metroparks Bikeway - Kirk Road Trailhead, 6700 Kirk Road. Registration starts at 7:30 a.m., and the first event begins at 8:45 a.m. Race registrations and event information are available at ValleyAutism5K.com or by calling 330-729-1350.
Health fair

The Youngstown Community Health Center, 726 Wick Ave., is conducting a Community Health Fair from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday.
Offered are free skin- cancer screening, by appointment only; free blood sugar and blood pressure testing, and Head Start enrollment. Representatives from Caresource, Buckeye and United Healthcare will be present, and information about the Affordable Care Act will be available. Prostate screening
WARREN
Free prostate screening for men 40 and over is offered at Grace AME Church, 1137 Main Ave. S.W., from 5 to 7 p.m. Sept. 22.
Physicians will perform a digital rectal examination, and Mercy Health lab personnel will do a prostate specific antigen (PSA) blood draw. Dinner will be provided to all men who participate.
The event is sponsored by the Warren City Health Department, Grace AME Church Nursing Guild, Abbvie Pharmaceuticals, Man Up Mahoning Valley, NEO Urology and Mercy Health Foundation Mahoning Valley.
40th anniversary

The Rape Crisis & Counseling Center, 535 Marmion Ave., a program of Compass Family and Community Services, is celebrating its 40th anniversary with an Education, Awareness and Prevention Symposium from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 16 at Fellows Riverside Gardens, Mill Creek MetroParks, 123 McKinley Ave.
The event provides a forum to bring together area social service agencies, clergy, law enforcement, and prevention specialists to discuss issues related to the awareness and prevention of sexual violence in the community. Lunch will be served, and continuing education units are pending.

ValleyCare Medical Group of Ohio physician Dr. Jon Arnott, M.D., has received the 2015 Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award from Northeast Ohio Medical University.
The Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award, presented annually to a graduating student and faculty member at more than 100 of the nation’s medical schools, is given to those who best demonstrate the Arnold P. Gold Foundation’s ideals of outstanding compassion in the delivery of care: Respect for patients, their families, and healthcare colleagues; and clinical excellence. He was chosen by NEOMED students as the 2015 faculty recipient.
Board certified in internal medicine, Dr. Arnott is physician adviser, director of Hospitalist Services and is a practicing hospitalist at Northside Medical Center. He also is an associate professor of Internal Medicine and the clerkship director of third-year medical students at NEOMED; and is the keynote speaker at the third-year Student Clinician ceremony Friday.
