No OVI arrests during two sobriety checkpoints over the weekend
CANFIELD
A total of 429 vehicles went through two sobriety checkpoints conducted by the Mahoning County Operating a Vehicle while Impaired Task Force, with the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Saturday night.
Officers conducted a checkpoint at 4545 New Road in Austintown, where seven vehicles were diverted for further investigation and 10 vehicles were stopped during a simultaneous saturation patrol.
Officers issued one summons for driving under suspension and one citation for traffic control device.
At a second checkpoint on Glenwood Avenue near Lake Drive in Youngstown, officers issued five summons for driving under suspension, one for drug abuse and one citation for speed. Officers diverted 14 vehicle that went through the checkpoint and conducted 17 traffic stops near the checkpoint site.
