Sewing guild will host workshop

CORTLAND

The Niles Chapter of the American Sewing Guild is hosting a workshop on a felted purse from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 29 at Trumbull County Agricultural Center, 520 W. Main St.

Local fiber artist Robin Walker will help students create a 3-D felted cavern purse. The cost of $20 includes a purse kit. Take a covered dish to share for lunch, and take serving spoons.

Items needed for this class are a sewing machine with a walking foot, jean needle, basic sewing supplies and assorted thread colors. Take any embellishments or mementos you want to include in the artwork for your purse.
