Ohio authorities investigate woman’s apparent drowning

CLEVELAND

Authorities in Cleveland are investigating an apparent drowning death of a woman in the Cuyahoga River.

Firefighters, police and the U.S. Coast Guard responded early Saturday and recovered the body of a woman. They also rescued two other people who have been hospitalized.

Authorities say there was a group of people gathered along the river in The Flats area when someone called 911 at about 5:30 a.m. to report three people were in the water.

Police say the woman’s body was found about an hour later.

They are investigating. No other information about the woman was released immediately.
