Youngstown-based FedEx freight driver Bryan Elges won the “5-Axle Sleeper” title at the Ohio State Truck Driving Championship and will head to the National Truck Driving Championship, known as the Super Bowl of Safety, in St. Louis on Tuesday. Elges has driven 1.5 million accident-free miles.

The Cubbison Co, of Austintown, a manufacturer of industrial product identification nameplates and labels for original equipment manufacturers, recently promoted Daniel J. Schmitz to the position of chief executive officer effective Aug. 3. He previously served as president at Cubbison.
