Fundraiser to help with lung transplant

Friends in the Youngstown area are planning a fundraiser from 3 to 6 p.m. Aug. 16 at Samie Winick’s Barn, 11335 Lisbon Road, to benefit a Youngstown native, Terry Bunshaft Gervelis, who needs a lifesaving double lung transplant.

Admission to the picnic and auction is $10, and the event will include food, live music, a silent auction and a Skype session to visit with Gervelis in Washington state.

The National Foundation for Transplants helps patients raise funds to pay for transplant-related expenses. Gervelis will face substantial expenses related to the transplant.

To make a tax-deductible donation in honor of Gervelis, mail it to NFT Washington Transplant Fund, 5350 Poplar, Ave., Suite 430, Memphis, TN 38119. Be sure to write “In honor of Terry Gervelis” in the memo line.
