Staff report

CAMPBELL

James Kirk, 22, of Campbell was arraigned Friday in Campbell Municipal Court on an aggravated-robbery charge.

Police arrested Kirk on Thursday in connection with an armed robbery reported Wednesday afternoon at Christie’s Bakery on 12th Street.

Kirk will appear in court for his preliminary hearing Aug. 25. A judge set his $100,000 bond at 10 percent cash or surety.

A 13-year-old juvenile told police Thursday he attempted to rob the bakery with a handgun after Kirk told him to do so. The juvenile said he covered his face with Kirk’s shirt during the attempted robbery while Kirk kept lookout outside, police said.

The teen told police where the gun used in the crime was located, and police recovered the weapon at a vacant wooded lot west of Gordon Avenue.

The teen is charged with aggravated robbery through the Martin P. Joyce Juvenile Justice Center.
