OVI checkpoints tonight in Austintown and Youngstown

The Mahoning County OVI Task Force, in conjunction with the Ohio State Highway Patrol, announced today that two Operating a Vehicle Impaired checkpoints will be conducted tonight.

One checkpoint will be at 4545 New Road in Austintown and will run from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m.

The other checkpoint will be on Glenwood Avenue Near Lake in Youngstown and also will run from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m.

In addition, police officers from participating agencies of the Mahoning County OVI Task Force will be conducting saturation patrols in various parts of Mahoning County throughout the weekend.

Motorists need to make arrangements to get home safely if they are planning on consuming alcohol, the task force advises.
