A couple told police a man tried to rob them in the parking lot of Charlie Staples Bar-B-Q, downtown, Friday evening.

The couple reported that a 6-foot tall black male demanded money and had a pellet gun, according to a city police report.

Crime alerts sent by Youngs-town State University say the suspect had a limp and wore a gray vest and black sweatpants.
