Dr. Dino, from the Carnegie Museum of Natural History, came to the Austintown library to present Spinosaurus Encounter on June 25.
Parents and children crowded into the back room of the library to wait for the Spinosaurus Encounter.
Dr. Dino started off by introducing herself and telling students what her job was — a professional paleontologist.
“It’s a super fun job,” Dino said.
She asked those in the crowd to channel their inner scientists to take the journey of the Spinosaurus Encounter with her.
“I want all of you to be paleontologists with me,” Dino said to the crowd of prospective paleontologists.
Dino asked several volunteers to come up to the front and pick out clues as to what was in store for this Encounter. Each clue led to the discovery of Dr. Dino’s special guest, Spiny — the Spinosaurus brought to help teach students about dinosaurs, fossils and the art of uncovering those mysteries.
Spinosaurus Encounter is part of the Youngstown Public Library’s Summer Discovery Program.
