Shepherd of the Valley of Poland hosted a Men’s Social on July 17 for residents.
Residents from the independent and assisted living facilities joined together for a luncheon accompanied with music and social activity.
Because there were three new residents, the topic of discussion was where one another came from before their residence at Shepherd of the Valley began.
Hugh Wood, one of the new residents, recently came from New York with his wife.
“I’m just new around here and I want to meet people,” Wood said.
The men were very welcoming toward one another, sitting together with new and old residents alike.
Tom Murphy, one of the residents, said he likes seeing others at events like these.
“It’s the sociability,” Murphy said. “There’s a lot of variety here.”
The residents sat at a few tables and discussed events going on both at Shepherd of the Valley and in the community.
