Fed judge in Youngstown sentences Texas man involved in teen sex sting

YOUNGSTOWN — U.S. District Court Judge Benita Y. Pearson has sentenced an Arlington, Texas, man to 15 years and eight months in prison for traveling to Ohio in an attempt to have a sexual encounter with someone he believed to be a 13-year-old girl, the U.S. Attorney announced.

Judge Pearson imposed the sentence this week on Samuel E. Condo Jr., 32, after he pleaded guilty to enticement, receipt and distribution of material pertaining to minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct, transportation of visual depictions of minors engaged in such conduct and interstate travel to engage in such conduct with a minor.

Condo used a cellphone and an Internet-linked computer to commit his crimes last October, according to court documents.

Condo, who was arrested when his flight from Texas landed at Cleveland-Hopkins Airport on Oct. 24, will be on 10 years of supervised release after prison.

The case was investigated by the U.S. Secret Service and the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
