CLASSES

Western Reserve Amateur Radio Club will gather Aug. 18 for dinner and a meeting at Davidson’s Restaurant, 3636 Canfield Road, Cornersburg. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m., and the meeting will follow. Russ Williams will speak on “Ground, So You’ll Be Safe,” and plans will be finalized for the upcoming Panerathon. GROUPS

Transcendental Interest Group will have its regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Park Vista North Lounge, 1310 Fifth Ave., Youngstown. The program will continue the mindfulness series, examining the science of compassion and self-compassion. After the session, the group will participate in a loving-kindness practice session. Each meeting is based on a DVD series by Dr. Ronald D. Siegel, professor of psychology at Harvard Medical School and University of Massachusetts Medical School. The series is organized into 30-minute segments. During each meeting, the group will listen to two segments and have time for questions and discussion after each segment. Take a notebook and pen.
