Superheroes were created in perler bead crafts at the Austintown library on July 15.

Librarian Starr Jones brought out beads in varying colors and stencils for students to make classic heroes or their own original creations.

Bryce Crofford decided to work without a stencil and create his own superhero.

Crofford said although he liked making them, the process was quick because he was excited to see the end product.

“My favorite thing about them is when you iron them,” Crofford said.

Crofford made a Lego-looking creation, making each part of the superhero’s body separately.

Amy Bondi and Laura McGuire brought their children to the library for Superhero Perler Bead Crafts as well. Bondi said she enjoyed the superhero aspect of the Summer Discovery Program.

“I love the whole theme this year,” Bondi said.

McGuire concurred, and said she liked that the theme carried through in all of the activities.

“The children really enjoy it,” McGuire said.

McGuire said it was nice to be able to come to the library during this rainy season.

”We like having somewhere to go,” McGuire said. “It’s a nice environment...and it’s a lovely venue.”

The two said they both appreciated library events for their children, giving them the chance to get out and participate in the community.

“We are homeschoolers and we love opportunities like this,” Mcguire said.
