YOUNGSTOWN

The Mahoning-Youngstown Community Action Partnership, 1325 Fifth Ave., will have information sessions on the next Workforce Development Program of 2015 on these dates: Tuesday through next Thursday and Aug. 18 and Aug. 19.

There are two sessions on each date: 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m.

The information sessions give an outline of what is covered in the class, details of the program and what is expected from each participant. Candidates interested in the Aug. 26 class must attend only one of the informational sessions.

CPA firm will give workshop

LIBERTY

Cohen & Co., certified public accountants, will have a complimentary two-hour workshop on key accounting trends and best practices.

The event will take place from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Aug. 19 at the Youngstown Country Club, 1402 Country Club Drive. Register no later than Aug. 14 at cohencpa.com/rsvp.

Jobs event set for Marshalls store

BOARDMAN

OhioMeansJobs Mahoning County will have special extended hours next week to facilitate the recruitment of retail workers for the new Marshalls department store in Boardman.

Those interested in employment at Marshalls, which is scheduled to open in September, should come to the OhioMeansJobs center, 141 Boardman-Canfield Road, between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.

Marshalls’ applicants will be able to fill out paper job applications with Marshalls’ staff on site.

Marshalls plans to hire 75 people as merchandise associates, administrative coordinators, backroom coordinators, customer experience/engagement coordinators and merchandise coordinators.

Applicants should have a high-school diploma or GED and at least six months of retail work experience.

Business showcase set by organization

COLUMBIANA

The Columbiana Area Chamber of Commerce invites residents and business owners to attend the Business Showcase on Aug. 20 at Buckeye Transfer Realty LLC located at 41738 Esterly Drive. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. Refreshments will be provided by Columbiana Diner.

There will be a Buckeye Transfer Realty presentation, followed by a tour of the grounds and facility. Contact the chamber office at 330-482-3822 or email info@columbianachamber.com for additional information. Reservations are not required.
