Man arrested after gun fired into air
YOUNGSTOWN
Police arrested an East Side man about 4 p.m. Tuesday after reports said he fired a gun in the air after his mother was upset at him for calling her a vulgar name.
Police were called to a home in the 400 block of North Garland Avenue for a report of shots fired. Reports said the woman told police she was arguing with her son, Deangelo Christian, 25, over a broken screen door, and he called her a name.
Reports said the mother told police she protested after her son called her the name, and Christian pulled a gun out of his waistband and fired a shot into the air.
Christian was arrested on charges of domestic violence by intimidation and discharging a firearm within city limits. Police found a 9mm shell casing on the front porch but could not find a gun, reports said.
