What: The tour includes playroom time, a stop at the barns, and a tractor-wagon ride. Extend your visit by bringing a snack or lunch and staying for a picnic.

AgVenture Camp

When: Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Age: 6 to 8

What: Learn about the activities and foods that go into a luau using songs, crafts, games and the farm. Bring lunch and a water bottle. Snacks provided, and camp will end with a luau party.

Cost: $40

Vegetable Gardening

When: Monday, 6 to 8 p.m.

What: Join us on a site visit to ask questions and learn about growing vegetables. You’ll get personal answers and gain new skills through hands-on demonstrations.

Botanical Vinegars

What: Vinegars are both food and medicine, they are easy to use and can be made with a vast array of herbs and fruits. Pam Baytos will show you how to make two vinegars and then provide samples with a fresh garden salad.

Plant Exchange

When: Aug. 15, 10 a.m.

What: Join us to trade plants, pots, garden tools and more. Late summer is the best time to split and transplant perennial plants.

Master Gardeners

What: Learn to read a soil test, to make soil improvement, talk about soil amendments and dig up some soil.

RECREATIONAL HIKE

When: Aug. 19, 9 to 10:30 a.m.

What: The faster-paced hikes promote exercise and are usually 2 to 4 miles. They are rated as easy.

Where: MetroParks Bikeway Kirk Road Trailhead, 6685 Kirk Road, Canfield.

Cost: Free

PARKITECTURE TROLLEY

When: Aug. 17, 1 to 3 p.m.

What: Landscape architect Justin Rogers will guide the trolley trip to show the historic landscape features and building architecture found in Mill Creek Park.

Where: Meet at Ford Nature Center, 840 Bears Den Road, Youngstown.

Cost: $7 adult residents; $10 NR; $5 for 12 and under or older than 60 R; $8 NR same ages.
