Alchemy Acres to host annual golf tournament

SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR Alchemy Acres Animal Sanctuary will conduct its seventh annual Gavin Ward Memorial Golf Tournament on Aug. 22. Gavin, who had been a special volunteer, died at age 12. The four-person scramble will take place at the Olde Dutch Mill Golf Course, 2745 Grandview Road in Lake Milton. The registration fee is $65 per person, which includes a golf cart, beverages, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Teams that register by Aug. 15 will receive a dozen golf balls per team. Prizes to be awarded have been provided by Sweeney Chevrolet, including the use of a 2015 Chevy Cruze for 24 months to the player who can make a hole-in-one on the eighth hole. Sweeney also will donate $5,000 to Alchemy Acres if the hole-in-one is made. All proceeds will benefit Alchemy Acres. For information call the sanctuary at 330-332-4897.
