Boardman UMC to sponsor Safety Day

BOARDMAN

Boardman United Methodist Church, 6809 Market St., will sponsor a free safety day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday on the church grounds.

The event will feature a variety of representatives on different aspects of safety. Participants include Greek Squad, computer safety; National Fire Repair, file of life, where people place their pertinent medical information in a file for paramedics in an emergency; Trailside Bicycle Shop, bike; Crouse Hardward Tru Value, propone; Tight Spot Security, home; Lions Club, free children’s eye screening in the church conference room; Safelite, windshield repair; Lee Monit Nationwide, home and car; The Kindness Revolution, promoting kind behavior; Boardman Police Department, police dog; Akron Children’s Hospital, car and booster seats; and Mahoning County 911, emergencies.

Food vendors include National Fire serving free hot dogs and the church, free snacks, cookies and lemonade in the fellowship hall. Hot sausage sandwiches and french fries will be sold.
