Area’s Welsh society plans annual picnic

AUSTINTOWN

St. David’s Welsh Society of Youngstown will host its annual catered picnic at 3:30 p.m. Aug. 22 in the air-conditioned Stacey Pavilion in Austintown Township Park, 6000 Kirk Road. Singer-guitarist Jeff Crouse will provide entertainment. Tickets are $17. For reservations, mail a check made out to “St. David’s Society” to M.J. Hungarian Day Festival is Sunday

YOUNGSTOWN

The Youngstown American Hungarian Foundation will host its annual Hungarian Day Festival (Magyar Nap) from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Aut Mori Grotto Hall, 563 N. Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown.

The Hungarians of the Akron area will provide Hungarian and continental music. A local group of dancers will perform a short program. Ethnic foods and pastries and refreshments will be available for sale. Raffles and door prizes will be offered.
