More than a thousand people were left without power in parts of Liberty and Hubbard townships, according to The Vindicator’s broadcast partner 21 WFMJ-TV.
Ohio Edison’s website reported 1,251 customers were without power in Liberty Township and about 150 in Hubbard Township as of 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
Customers in the Churchill Road and Sampson Drive area were affected by the power outage.
Trumbull County Dispatch said the power outage could have been caused by a damaged wire or a blown transformer. The Ohio Edison website reported that power should have been restored by 10 p.m. for all customers.
Collision in Boardman
BOARDMAN
A Corvette collided with an ambulance responding to an emergency Sunday evening at South Avenue and U.S. Route 224. The Ohio State Highway Patrol said it received the call at 4:05 p.m.
The ambulance was clearing the intersection for a second time when it was hit by a Corvette. The drivers of the ambulance suffered minor injuries and were transported to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital. The drivers of the Corvette received no injuries and were transported home.
