Sharon police piece together fatal shooting

City police announced charges Saturday from a double shooting outside of Sharon Regional Hospital that left one man dead last Sunday.

Amy Emmett of Greenville has been charged in the death of her husband, William Emmett, according to 21 WFMJ-TV, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner.

Police found the Emmetts with multiple gunshot wounds at a parking lot outside the hospital last Sunday after receiving reports of gunshots.

According to police, Amy purportedly shot William before shooting herself. She faces charges of first-degree and third-degree murder.

Under Pennsylvania law, she could face the death penalty if convicted of first-degree murder. The third-degree murder charge carries a maximum penalty of 40 years in prison.

She is in stable condition at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
