Nicholas Patrick Cerimele and Renee Lyn Merlo were married in a 2 p.m. ceremony May 30 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, where Monsignor Michael Cariglio officiated.

Guests congratulated the couple during a reception afterward at Mr. Anthony’s in Boardman. She is the daughter of Joseph and Virginia Merlo of Niles, and he is the son of Nicholas and Cindy Cerimele of Boardman.

The newlyweds honeymooned in Antigua and reside in Strongsville, Ohio.

The bride wore an ivory chiffon gown featuring a sweetheart neckline and a train. Her sister, Gina Merlo, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Christina Hughes, Gina Bilyk, Heather Ireland, Sarah Graham, Megan High and Jennifer D’Allessandro. Attendants wore coral-colored gowns.

Francesca Vandy, cousin of the bride, and Miley Mastell, great-niece of the bride, participated as flower girls.

Dr. Joseph Cerimele served as best man for his brother, and groomsmen were Peri Eglo, Dan Spirko, Jeff Soccorsi, Vongxay Ratsaphangthong, Nnabike Okaro and Jared Ingram. The groom’s nephew, Dominic Cerimele, participated as the ring bearer.

The bride is employed as a registered nurse at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland. She graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor’s degree in education and from Cleveland State University with a bachelor’s degree in nursing.

The groom obtained a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Ohio State University, a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from YSU and a master’s degree in literacy from Baldwin-Wallace College. He is employed as a reading intervention specialist for Medina City Schools in Medina, Ohio.
