NE Ohio baby born after mother was fatally shot last week dies today

CLEVELAND

A baby that doctors had been able to deliver successfully after her pregnant mother was fatally shot by her domestic partner in an apparent murder-suicide has died.The death of the 4-day-old girl was confirmed Sunday by the Cuyahoga County medical examiner.

The child’s 34-year-old mother died of a gunshot wound to the head on Tuesday, but doctors were able to deliver the baby. The woman was about six months pregnant at the time.

Police said the woman’s 32-year-old male partner apparently shot her and then shot himself in the head. He later died at the hospital.
