H&M to open in Southern Park Mall

BOARDMAN

The international retailer H&M will open its doors in Southern Park Mall at noon Thursday.

In celebration of opening day, H&M at Southern Park Mall will offer the first 200 shoppers in line an H&M T-shirt and an “Access to Fashion Pass” — valued from $10 to $300.

H&M also will offer vouchers for 15 percent off a customer’s next purchase for every bag of unwanted clothes the customer donates while in the store. This is part of the company’s global garment-recycling program.

To kick off of the program, customers who bring garments to be recycled before the store opens at noon also will have the chance to win H&M gift cards valued between $50 and $100 in addition to receiving a voucher.

The new H&M location will offer collections for ladies, men, young ladies and young men, with separate “store within store” sections for accessories, lingerie, maternity and its plus-size line, H&M+.

H&M was established in Sweden in 1947. Today there are 361 stores in the U.S. and about 3,300 stores in 57 markets worldwide.

Operating income was $12.2 million, compared with $1.6 million in last year’s first quarter.

Net income attributable to continuing operations was $4.5 million, or 15 cents per diluted share, compared with last year’s net loss attributable to continuing operations of $3.8 million, or 13 cents per diluted share.

RTI was formerly headquartered in Weathersfield Township for more than 50 years. In March, the now Pittsburgh-based leading titanium company announced it will be purchased by Alcoa, a leading metals company, for $1.5 billion.

Twitter stock drops

NEW YORK

Twitter’s stock dropped sharply as the company’s revenue and outlook fell short of expectations at a time investors are looking for stronger advertising growth to make up for less-than-stellar user numbers.

Twitter’s adjusted earnings for the first quarter topped Wall Street estimates, but revenue fell short of expectations and of Twitter’s own guidance. Twitter attributed the shortfall to lower-than-expected contributions from some of its newer “direct-response” advertising products.
