The Trumbull County Planning Commission has entered into a contract with Hubbard Township to update the township’s comprehensive plan.
A comprehensive plan includes maps, charts and text that analyze trends and conditions of growth to make recommendations for the general development of a community, the planning commission said in a press release.
Comprehensive plans help determine deficiencies and future needs, accommodate orderly development and provide guidance for growth. The planning commission created the township’s last comprehensive plan in 2003.
“The township has undergone many changes since the adoption of the previous plan, including the cancellation of the Hubbard Arterial (highway) project and the addition of several sewer projects,” said Trish Nuskievicz, executive director of the planning commission.
“Because of these changes, it is time to re-group and update the comprehensive plan, which is the township’s blueprint for future growth and provides the legal basis for zoning,” she said.
The planning commission also recently completed comprehensive plans for Bristol, Hartford and Kinsman townships as well as Newton Falls. The commission is in the final stages of updating Champion plan and is under contract with Braceville and Farmington townships and the city of Girard.
Hubbard Township’s plan is expected to be complete by April 2017.
