Pressure too high

Pressure too high

WARREN

A routine inspection Thursday of the two Kleese Development Associates brine-injection wells in Warren Township uncovered that the company was injecting waste brine “over pressure.”

The company was instructed to reduce the pressure to the appropriate levels, said a spokesman for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. The inspector checked the pressures again Friday, and they still were too high, so the operation was shut down until the pressure level was corrected.

The facility is off U.S. Route 422 in Warren Township just north of the state Route 5 bypass. The company installed an automatic shutoff and pressure-level recorder, and the pressures were correct Saturday, allowing the company to resume operations.
