Poland schools bond issue
Poland schools bond issue
POLAND
New schools could soon be coming to Poland.
The Poland Board of Education voted 5-0 Monday to place a bond issue on the November ballot. The bond issue will build a new state of the art K-5 elementary school and 6-8 middle school.
“Building is a necessity based on the information provided by the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission,” Superintendent Dave Janofa said.
The school board has been reviewing data since August 2014 with the OFCC and has had several discussions with the community regarding the cost to renovate versus the cost to build new. Janofa said: “Renovating emergency issues of the current school buildings alone will cost millions.”
The board believes it is the community’s recommendation to build new. The school board does not yet know the exact millage of the bond.
