The eighth annual Survivors of Suicide Awareness Walk in memory of loved ones who have died by suicide will be from 2 to 4 p.m. May 16 at the Trumbull County Courthouse gazebo, Courthouse Square.
Families, friends and the public are invited to attend and urged to bring photos or signs to highlight the loss of loved ones to suicide.
This event is sponsored by Help Hotline Crisis Center Inc., Survivors of Suicide (SOS) of Mahoning and Columbiana Counties, and Loving Outreach to Survivors of Suicide (LOSS). For information, call Help Hotline at 1-800-427-3606.

Area Agency on Aging 11 Inc., in partnership with Youngstown State University, is offering a free screening of a documentary about an innovative program that helps those who are struggling with dementia to reconnect with the world through memories triggered by music they love.
The agency’s Long Term Ombudsman Program and YSU’s Gerontology Department will host the event at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Williamson Business College Auditorium. The documentary, “Alive Inside,” will begin at 3 p.m. Those who want to attend are asked to RSVP via email at ombudsman@aaa11.org.

The event also will kick off a collection drive for old devices no longer being used. Donations of new or used devices will be collected in drop boxes on the YSU campus. The devices can be new or used but must be an Apple brand for programming purposes. Any of the following devices can be donated: iPod Shuffle; iPod Nano; iPod Classic; iPod Touch or iPhones.
Health screenings will be offered

Agape Assembly Church, 426 Nevada Ave. S.W., Warren, offers the “Power to End Stroke” Community Health Fair from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
This free event features presentations from medical professionals, free health screenings, tips for recognizing and responding to signs of stroke for adults and children, prize giveaways, and wellness- focused activities for children.

Alzheimer’s legal and financial care

The Alzheimer Network will present a seminar on legal and financial issues regarding the long-term care associated with Alzheimer’s Disease from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the conference room of the Girard Free Library, 105 E. Prospect St.

Immunization clinic set for May 6 and 20

The Niles Health Department, 34 W. State St., is offering an immunization clinic from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. May 6 and May 20. No appointment is needed, and no one will be refused service because of inability to pay. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
