Artists will open studios

Artists of the Mahoning Commons and Friends will open their studio spaces to the public this weekend for its annual spring sale. Hours are noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The artists are located inside the Ward Bakery Building at 1024 Mahoning Ave., across from the U-Haul building.

Artists will be working in their studio and selling their artwork, which will include paintings, jewelry, sculpture, pottery, fiber art, glass, soap, mixed-media, drawing, prints, photography, hand-forged steel and custom woodwork.

Participating artists include: Laurie Anderson, Tony Armeni, Rich Berg, Courtney Bouchie, Nea Bristol, Lynn Cardwell, Carmichael Inc., Christina D’Angelo, Jill Davis, Rick Fisher, Chauncey Hay, Rob Joki, Jeff and Pegi Jones, Lauren Lenio-Miller, Nick Levinsky, Maryann Limmer, Robyn Maas, Robert Mocker, Tony Nicholas, Scott Pergande, Daniel Rauschenbach, Jim Rodgers, Marcie Roepke-Applegate, Sandpiper Soap Co., Tracy Segreti, Jason Van Hoose and Norene Yazvac.

Live music will be presented by Leo D’Angelo and Andrew Testa on Saturday afternoon, and the Big Green Thing food truck, serving new American, gluten-free and vegetarian food, will be on hand.

Visitors can also tour the J.L. Treharn and Co. shop, which handcrafts fine 18th- century reproduction furniture, at 2 p.m. both days.

There will also be a chance auction for artwork from all participating artists and gift certificates from local businesses.
