St. Rose School is accepting registration for kindergarten through eighth grade for the 2015-16 school year.
A $50 registration fee is required. Call the school office at 330-545-1163 to secure registration material or to schedule a tour of the school. For students entering grades one through eight, parents can call the school office to set up a shadow day, a day when prospective students can come and spend a day with the class they would be entering. The school is an Ohio Education Choice Scholarship (voucher) and Ohio Income Based Scholarship participating school. The school offers busing from Girard, Liberty, McDonald, Niles and Youngstown. Before and After School is available through Sunny Days Day Care and Pre-School located in the St. Rose building. Kindergarten screening is scheduled for May 5. Call the school office for an appointment.

Katie E. Little of McDonald, a student at Kent State University, has been named a member of Phi Beta Kappa, the honorary society. Her selection was based on her academic record as evidenced by a 4.0 grade-point average and the strength of her pre-medical study program. Fewer than 1 percent of all college students in the United States earn recognition by the society.
Kent student earns leadership award

Angelia Werner of Kent, originally from North Lima, has been selected as recipient of the Distinguished Senior Leadership Award by the Kent State University Department of Anthropology in the College of Arts and Sciences. Her academic standing and involvement in various campus and community organizations contributed to her selection. Werner will graduate with a bachelor’s degree in May, and is president of the KSU Anthropology Organization.
